2 Municipalities in Tarlac reported its first COVID-19 case | Taga Tarlac Update
Moncada and San Manuel is no longer COVID-19 Free.
5 new reported cases of COVID-19 in Tarlac Province came out today, May 20, from Department of Health bringing the total of 34 COVID-19 positive.
According to Moncada Information Office, the town records its FIRST CONFIRMED COVID-19 case. Test result of PUI (Person Under Investigation) death is from Brgy. Maluac
To correct the previously released information from the Provincial Government of Tarlac, Barangay Maluac is in Moncada and not in the town of San Manuel.
Here's the information of 5 new positive cases:
The Moncada resident patient is a 75 year-old female from the said barangay who was admitted at Tarlac Provincial Hospital on April 25 and swab samples were taken the same day. On April 26, 2020, the patient died of Chronic Obstructive Respiratory Disease (COPD) Class D, Pulmonary Tuberculosis on Maintenance Phase and was cremated immediately. Result of RT-PCR (Swab Test) came out POSITIVE on May 20, 2020.
The PUI death was coordinated immediately to the Municipal Health Office and Rural Health Unit II. Contact tracing was done after the patient expired. Relatives and contacts of patient were placed in strict isolation, quarantine and monitoring for 14 days. After the quarantine period, none of the contacts and family members manifested any signs or symptoms of COVID-19 or any form of respiratory disease.
The public is advised that the Municipal Task Force against Covid-19 remains relentless in undertaking intensified contact tracing of PUIs, isolation and quarantine of PUMs, targeted testing for contacts and frontliners and other necessary infection control measures to stem the spread of Covid-19 in Moncada. 20 May 2020; 1:34PM update.
1 positive case in town of San Manuel is from Brgy. Lanat, a 50 year-old female who was confined in Tarlac Provincial Hospital with Diabetes Mellitus Type II. She was PCR swabbed on April 25 and was discharged in the hospital last May 2. Her condition has improved and is now in home quarantine. Her PCR Test result was released on May 19, 2020.
Meanwhile, other positive cases are from the City and Municipality of Capas, Concepcion, and Tarlac City. All three out of five cases are all in home quarantine and are either improved or asymptomatic.
After 13 consecutive days with no reported cases of virus, there are now 34 positive cases of COVID-19 in the province of Tarlac with 6 deaths, 17 recoveries, 6 improved, 2 still confined and 3 is under home quarantine. 1,595 total of PCR tested, 791 are negative and 764 awaiting result as of May 20.
