Being one of the standouts in this year's Miss Universe beauty pageant, Philippine bet Catriona Gray seems to be confident towards her journey in winning the most coveted crown.

The 24-year-old model-singer received one of the loudest cheers at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand Thursday night, December 13.


For the evening gown part of the competition, Catriona slayed the runway wearing a custom-made gown designed by Kapampangan fashion designer, Mak Tumang.

Mak Tumang is a Kapampangan designer from Mexico, Pampanga. Inspired by the pirouettes of his imagination and his undying love for fashion, Mak Tumang started as sheer raw talent. A proponent of modern techniques, haute couture and his continuous pursuit of luxurious elegance, he has become a well distinguished name and esteemed personality in both national and international fashion scene.

Known for his intricate embroidery, detailed lacework and elaborate designs, he has taken the industry by storm. He has dressed famous celebrities and beauty queens. One of his most recent popular pieces is the gown of Miss Universe Philippines 2018 Catriona Gray. A Mak Tumang gown has been made to the highest standard. I also definitely believe Cat’s designer, Mak Tumang, definitely deserves recognition as well! So much beautiful effort was put into embedding the Philippines into Cat’s amazing dresses and I think that’s golden.

Mayor of Gerona, Tarlac pleased the family of Mary Ann Antalan not to accept financial settlement

Mayor of Gerona town in Tarlac Hon. Eloy Eclar asked the family Antalan not too eager to accept any financial settlement offer from the former employers of Mary Ann Antalan, 21 year-old, who was believed to be a COVID-19 carrier, died few days ago after her employers sent her back to Tarlac instead of bringing her to a hospital or seek medical attention for her, despite of her medical condition. Mayor Eclar said he will be sending to them battery of lawyers that will help them. He also refrained them not to give any interview to any media for the meantime until the lockdown in their barangay is lifted. This is to protect everyone.
